Collaborative strategy and calibration meetings. 

After we complete our role visioning and success outcome design, it’s time to collaborate on strategy. Our first calibration meeting with your team will provide us with the opportunity to share what we have learned about your company. Then, you have the opportunity to correct or clarify anything that needs to be adjusted.

We are passionate about getting this part right, so we don’t leave this stage until we’re all 100% confident that we know who we’re looking for.

From here, we hit the ground running and officially begin the search.. We will continue to have biweekly calibration meetings until your new hire is onboarded. You will always know exactly what is going on in our search and recruitment process.

A covert discovery process.

Role Visioning & Success Outcome Design

Role visioning provides our executive search professionals at Y Scouts with a deep and true understanding of what the role will entail, and what the perfect candidate will be like.

By the end of the role visioning and success outcome design processes, everyone involved in the search has a concrete understanding of the outcomes this executive will need to accomplish within their first 12-18 months in the role. This is also the perfect time to get everyone on the same page regarding how this executive will need to fit into the company culture.

We start with two carefully crafted surveys. The first survey goes out to a cross-section of the people within the organization, from current leaders on the executive team to entry-level workers. It only takes about 10 minutes to complete, and it provides our team with meaningful data about the role.

A second survey goes out to the 3-5 individuals who work directly with the new executive. This survey takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, and we use the information to understand what combination of hard skills and soft skills the candidate must possess in order to be successful in the role.

This exploration of your company’s DNA allows us to get to know the inner workings of your organization and the roles each person plays – including the new executive.

We never post job listings. In fact, when we reach out to potential candidates, it is only after we have discovered that they are a good match. We approach high-level executives who are already working, and rarely are they on the job market when we approach.

We also don’t tell them who you are until we have taken them through the discovery process. That’s because we know that you can only really get to know someone when they take off their mask and let their guard down. When we approach a potential candidate, we already know they are highly qualified based on our advanced research capabilities.  However, when we first conduct outreach, we don’t spend time talking about their resume or accomplishments.  That happens later during our deep dive interview process.
